Emily Wickersham Returns to NCIS World for Multiple Episodes of Origins

CBS has confirmed that Emily Wickersham is coming back to the NCIS universe. Per TVLine, the actress will reprise her role as Ellie Bishop across several installments of the prequel series NCIS: Origins.

Her first episode airs next Tuesday, October 27. In the story, Bishop is recruited by Director Tony DiNozzo to assist a younger version of Leroy Jethro Gibbs with a personal mission.

A released clip shows a tense reunion. Gibbs points a weapon at Bishop, to which she dryly remarks, "Missed you, too." She explains that DiNozzo called her because the investigation needs to remain unofficial, a state of being she describes as her "whole life."

Mark Harmon, who plays the present-day version of Gibbs, appears in every episode of the series, which follows the character's early career. The ongoing plot involves Gibbs hunting those who shot him in the season premiere.
