ESRB Leak Confirms Co-op Hit Peak Is Coming to PS5

The breakout co-op adventure game Peak is officially headed to PlayStation 5, according to a leak from the ESRB rating board. The beloved indie title, which has sold over 10 million copies on PC, was spotted with a PS5 rating, per reports from IGN and Push Square.

In the game, players band together to climb massive, treacherous mountains, using teamwork and a few tools to navigate deadly obstacles. The chaotic, physics-based gameplay often results in hilarious failures and has made it a viral sensation. The console port was outed by the Entertainment Software Rating Board, whose listings are historically very accurate.

The developers, a collaboration between Aggro Crab and Landfall Games, ended post-launch content support earlier this summer. IGN reports this means new players likely shouldn't expect significant updates or new content for the console release. The price point for the PS5 version also remains unconfirmed, though the Steam version's success was partly attributed to its low $8 cost.

Co-creator Nick Kaman previously explained the team's unique pricing psychology to IGN. He described a principle where $8 still feels like $5 to a player, a price point they found optimal. It is not yet known if this pricing will carry over to the console market.

As of now, there is no official announcement or release date for the PS5 version. An ESRB rating typically indicates a release is not far off. It is also unclear if versions for Xbox or the Nintendo Switch 2 are planned, though multiple outlets suggest a PS5-only console exclusive would be surprising.
