Eva Marie Saint, the Oscar-winning actress known for her roles in "On the Waterfront" and Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest," has died, Variety reports. She passed away at her home in Los Angeles on Tuesday at the age of 102.

Saint won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1955 for her role as Edie Doyle opposite Marlon Brando in "On the Waterfront." She later became famous for playing the cool, seductive spy Eve Kendall in Hitchcock's 1959 thriller "North by Northwest" alongside Cary Grant.

Her career began in early television, with roles in series like "One Man's Family" and anthology dramas. She later returned to TV for shows including "Moonlighting" and played Martha Kent in the 2006 film "Superman Returns."

Beyond her iconic film roles, Saint performed frequently on stage. Her theater work included a Broadway production of "The Trip to Bountiful" and a Chicago run of "Duet for One." She remained the oldest living Oscar winner at the time of her death.
