Ex-Marathon director settles $200M lawsuit with Sony and Bungie

Ex-Marathon director settles $200M lawsuit with Sony and Bungie

A nasty legal battle over the reboot of Marathon has quietly ended. Christopher Barrett, the former director on the project, has settled his $200 million wrongful dismissal lawsuit against Sony and Bungie, Eurogamer reports.

Barrett was fired in early 2024. Bloomberg reported in August that several female Bungie staff had accused him of sending inappropriate messages, which led to his termination.

In his suit, Barrett claimed the companies publicly smeared him by falsely insinuating sexual misconduct. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
