Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Trailer Highlights Weapons and Spring 2027 Release
Square Enix showed a new trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation at Gamescom Opening Night Live, per GameSpot. The cinematic spot focused heavily on the monstrous Weapons, the planet's legendary guardians, suggesting they'll have a major role in this final chapter.
The footage, introduced by director Naoki Hamaguchi, depicted a world overrun by the kaiju-like beasts. Characters discuss them as protectors of the planet, with humanity framed as an invasive species. The trailer highlighted Ultima Weapon and Emerald Weapon specifically.
Beyond the Weapons, the trailer showed the full cast in action, including an aerial battle aboard Cid's Highwind and ground combat against familiar foes like Typhon. GameSpot also reported on new gameplay features, including a FITS system for combat roles and more optional minigames.
Separately, ScreenRant confirmed the game's release window remains Spring 2027, as stated during the Gamescom 2026 livestream. The outlet noted no specific date was given, but the lack of a delay was highlighted. The trailer also teased the ongoing war with Wutai and Shinra's machinations.
