First Look at Austin Butler and Michael B Jordan in Miami Vice Reboot

You've seen the iconic white suits and pastels. Now, get a load of the new threads. Universal has released the first official images of Austin Butler and Michael B. Jordan as detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs in the upcoming reboot, per The Hollywood Reporter.

The photos, shared by the studio, show the duo in a slightly different style than the 1980s original. Michael B. Jordan rocks a beard and a leather jacket as Tubbs, while Austin Butler is seen in a grey suit, taking aim as Crockett. The iconic white blazer is notably absent from this initial reveal.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is titled 'Miami Vice '85' and is being directed by Joseph Kosinski, who previously helmed 'Top Gun: Maverick'. The script comes from Dan Gilroy, the writer behind 'Nightcrawler'.

The supporting cast is stacked with names like Alden Ehrenreich, Camila Morrone, Walton Goggins, and John Leguizamo. JoBlo also confirmed the first look, noting the stars have 'ditched the pastels' for this new take.

'Miami Vice '85' is currently filming and is scheduled to cruise into theaters on May 19, 2028.
