First look at Sam Richardson's alien abduction comedy 'Into the Sky' is pure chaos
A new sci-fi comedy starring Sam Richardson has revealed its first wild image, per Collider. The film, 'Into the Sky', features the 'Ted Lasso' and 'Veep' star as Bobby, a man whose life is in ruins due to repeated alien abductions.
In the exclusive photo, Bobby is shown at a wedding, looking up at a darkened sky with an expression of sheer terror. The outlet reports no spacecraft is visible, but his panic suggests his tormentors are back for him.
According to Collider, Bobby is first introduced naked and covered in blue goo on a North Carolina golf course, far from his New York home. His constant disappearances have destroyed his marriage. The story follows him as he forms an unlikely partnership with a woman named Nico, who is renting his house and planning her brother's wedding.
While Bobby helps with the wedding, Nico tries to help him reconnect with his wife. Things get more chaotic when another long-term abduction victim enters the picture. The film is described as a cosmic mystery that evolves into a romance about a man fighting to save his relationship against otherworldly interference.
The movie is the feature directorial debut of Drew Mylrea and Evan Wolf Buxbaum. The cast includes David Cross, Sofia Black-D'Elia, and Arturo Castro. 'Into the Sky' will have its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, this September.
