Former Rockstar producer explains why GTA 6 is skipping PC at launch
If you're a PC gamer, get ready to wait for Grand Theft Auto VI. The blockbuster sequel is launching on consoles first this fall, a strategy that's got fans wondering why their platform is getting the cold shoulder.
A former Rockstar Games producer, John Ricchio, has weighed in. Speaking to KiwiTalkz, Ricchio explained that this console-first approach is standard for the developer, according to GameSpot. He reportedly suggested it allows the team to build a better, more polished version for PC later.
Eurogamer reports that Ricchio clarified it's not a lack of care for the PC audience. The intent, per the former dev, is to focus on one set of hardware first to ensure a high-quality product before tackling the wider compatibility needs of the PC market.
