FromSoftware Apologizes as The Duskbloods Network Test Crashes on First Day
FromSoftware's hotly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, hit a major snag during its first network test session. IGN reports the session was ended early after widespread "game server issues" prevented most players from logging in.
The first of five planned four-hour test windows began early Friday morning, but players were met with an error screen that read "Failed to log in to The Duskbloods game server." According to VGC, repeated attempts to connect failed for the majority of participants.
In response, FromSoftware posted an apology on social media, per GameSpot. "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to those who were waiting for the first The Duskbloods network test due to game server issues," the studio wrote. "We regret to inform you that today's session is now closed."
The company stated it would "work on improving the servers" and "announce future schedules at a later date." This vague wording, as noted by GameSpot, leaves the status of the remaining four test sessions scheduled throughout the weekend unclear.
The network test was a closed event for a limited number of players who had signed up for codes. The game is described as a bloody PvPvE action title where players, as "Bloodsworn" beings, engage in online battles for up to eight players.
While some fans expressed frustration online about planning their day around the short test window, others were understanding, noting that finding such issues is the entire point of a network test. For now, players will have to wait to see if the remaining sessions proceed as planned.
