GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen Calls Physical Games 'Totally Irrelevant'
GameStop's boss just dismissed the disc-and-cartridge business that made his company famous. CEO Ryan Cohen declared physical video game software 'totally irrelevant,' according to Kotaku.
He also claimed that video game software makes up less than 12% of the company's overall business, per Nintendo Life. The retail giant apparently sees its future elsewhere.
Cohen is still gunning for a massive merger with online marketplace eBay, claiming the combination could create a $1 trillion business. How video games fit into that giant plan seems to be, in his words, not a concern.
