Ghostbusters Crosses Over With Monopoly GO In Mobile Game Event
A new animated Ghostbusters show is on the way, but first, the franchise is busting into a mobile game. ScreenRant reports that Ghostbusters is teaming up with Monopoly GO for a limited-time seasonal event.
The crossover is part of the game's Monster Mash season, which starts September 23 and wraps up on November 25. Players will find New York City boards and can collect items themed around the classic films.
Several new activities are included. One event, set on the rooftop from the first movie's finale, lets players race themed vehicles. Another is a cooperative mode where friends can build attractions based on famous characters and ghostly encounters.
Perhaps the most thematic addition is a treasure hunt inside the Ghostbusters firehouse, where players use a virtual Proton Blaster to clear slime and find equipment. The season also features a crossover with Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters.
Monopoly GO is a free-to-play mobile game from Scopely and Hasbro that reimagines the classic board game with digital events and collectibles.
