Glee reboot officially greenlit for Disney+ and Hulu

The New Directions are warming up again. Per Variety, Disney+ and Hulu have officially ordered a reboot of the musical series Glee.
20th Television will produce the new series, though details on the plot remain under wraps. The original show, created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan, ran on Fox from 2009 to 2015.
Murphy confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that he recently finished writing a script for the revival with Falchuk and Brennan. He also told the outlet he has already been in touch with about ten of the original cast members, who he said were enthusiastic about the idea.
Original star Lea Michele previously told E! News she would follow Murphy anywhere, while Chris Colfer told Bustle a reboot would be complicated but acknowledged fan demand.
As TVLine notes, the passing of original cast members Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera, and Mark Salling adds complexity to any revival. The show's original run featured a large ensemble cast including Michele, Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison, and Darren Criss.
