Grand Theft Auto 6 Age Ratings Explicitly Confirm Sex Scenes

The upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature more explicit sexual content than its predecessor, according to international age rating listings.
As reported by IGN, store pages for the game on PlayStation in New Zealand and Australia have been updated with an official rating. While similar updates appeared in the UK and US, the listings for those two regions specifically note "sex scenes."
Polygon's coverage highlights a key difference. GTA 5's rating in those same territories warns of "sexual material," while GTA 6's listing uses the more specific "sex scenes." This suggests a potential change in the nature or explicitness of the content.
It's unclear if this reflects an evolution in how ratings boards categorize content or a deliberate shift by Rockstar Games. IGN notes that GTA 5 included brief sexual moments, but the new label could point to more graphic, scripted scenes akin to those in a film or TV show.
Both outlets point to the central romantic relationship between protagonists Jason and Lucia as a possible factor. Trailers have shown intimate moments between the two, hinting that the story may delve into more mature territory.
The age ratings, per Polygon, also confirm expected content like intense violence, blood and gore, drug use, and strong language. GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19.
