Greta Gerwig's Narnia film gets a poster and a 2027 release date

A new poster for Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Narnia movie has dropped, and a full trailer is just a day away. Netflix revealed the artwork and confirmed the schedule, per JoBlo and Polygon.
The film, officially titled 'Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew,' is set for a theatrical release in IMAX on February 12, 2027, with early screenings starting February 10. It will then hit the Netflix streaming service on April 2 of that same year.
According to Polygon, the project features a star-studded cast including Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep, who will voice the characters Andrew Ketterley and Aslan, respectively. They are joined by actors Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
Director Greta Gerwig shared her excitement in a statement provided to Polygon, calling the opportunity 'the honor of a lifetime' and recalling how the book's concept of a lion singing a world to life captured her imagination as a child.
This adaptation marks the first live-action film version of the 1955 prequel novel, which explains the creation of the magical land. Netflix secured the rights to C.S. Lewis's works back in 2018.
