GTA 6 Fans Speculate Jason Could Be Series' First Neurodivergent Lead

Fans are buzzing with a new theory about the next Grand Theft Auto protagonist. According to a report from IGN, speculation is growing that Jason from GTA 6 might be the franchise's first outwardly neurodivergent lead character.

The theory stems from comments made by longtime Rockstar writer Rupert Humphries in an interview with Love magazine. Per IGN, Humphries described Jason as being "wired differently," noting that players would decide if his criminal actions are driven by circumstance or by this inherent difference.

Fans have connected this to footage from the game's extended gameplay reveal. Observers point to moments where Jason appears to miss social cues, avoids eye contact, and expresses anxiety over social situations, preferring the comfort of a gun.

Some supporters of the theory suggest these behaviors could reflect neurodivergent traits like social fatigue or masking. Others, IGN notes, argue he might just be a reserved ex-military man. Rockstar has not commented on the speculation.

With less than 45 days until launch, Rockstar is ramping up its marketing blitz. The campaign includes murals in major cities and a one-night rebranding of the Miami Heat basketball team to the "Vice City Heat" for a game on November 18.
