GTA 6 Gameplay and Map Leak Online, Group Threatens Rockstar
New videos claiming to show gameplay from Grand Theft Auto VI have surfaced online, alongside an image purported to be the game's full map. IGN reports the leak appears legitimate.
According to the outlets, one clip shows protagonist Jason playing a basketball mini-game at his home, which reportedly increased a 'focus' stat, hinting at possible RPG mechanics. Another video, described by VGC, features a driving scene where Jason crashes into a delivery van and gets into a fistfight. That footage also suggested vehicles will require gas.
The leaks are being claimed by a group called CyberLeek, per IGN and Kotaku. The group's website reportedly contains a manifesto criticizing Rockstar's decision not to offer a physical disc version of GTA 6 and threatening other publishers over an 'all-digital future.'
Rockstar and parent company Take-Two Interactive appear to be taking action. Kotaku notes that some video uploads are being removed due to copyright strikes, which many see as confirmation of the leaks' authenticity.
The leaks arrive just days before a planned, extended look at the game is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 27, as reported by both IGN and VGC.
This is not the first time GTA 6 has been leaked. The game suffered a massive breach of development footage in 2022 and saw its debut trailer leak online in December 2023.
