GTA 6 Gets Mature ESRB Rating and a Million-Dollar Miami Billboard

Rockstar's upcoming blockbuster, Grand Theft Auto VI, has officially secured its M for Mature rating from the ESRB, as reported by IGN. The classification warns of "blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, use of drugs and alcohol." The PEGI 18 rating in the UK matches this adult designation.

While the detailed content breakdown from the ESRB is still pending, the rating confirms the series' signature mature themes will continue. The listing also mentions "in-game purchases," which IGN notes likely refers to optional edition upgrades, not microtransactions in the core game, aligning with a previous Rockstar statement.

In a separate marketing move, Rockstar has lit up Miami's real-life Kaseya Center with a massive digital billboard. According to IGN, the display, which reads "Welcome to Vice City VI," cost the company close to $1 million. The arena is mirrored in-game as the Sahara Arena, part of the fictionalized Florida setting.

The promotion follows months of negotiations with Miami-Dade County officials. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles on November 19.
