GTA 6 Leaker Appears To Have Access To Playable Build Of The Game
The flood of unofficial Grand Theft Auto VI footage shows no signs of stopping, and the latest clips suggest the source may have a full playable version of the game. Per multiple outlets including PC Gamer and Kotaku, a leaker going by CyberLeek posted a video where the playable character, Jason, shoots at a wall. The bullet holes spelled out the leaker's tag, "LEEK."
This stunt is seen as strong evidence the person has direct access to a build, rather than just pre-recorded files. Rock Paper Shotgun reports the leaks are linked to a "crypto-peddling hacker group" that began sharing footage earlier this week.
As the videos spread, Rockstar Games has gone quiet. Kotaku notes the company hasn't posted on any official channels in over 48 hours, while it and Take-Two scramble to have the content removed.
The leaks have also had a financial impact. According to GameSpot, Take-Two Interactive's stock price has fallen since the leaks began, dropping from around $245 per share and wiping billions from the company's total market value.
The ongoing drip-feed has revealed numerous alleged gameplay details. PC Gamer reports new videos show systems for cloning car keys, changes to combat, and even random bird deaths. Another clip, highlighted by Kotaku, features Jason piloting a plane over Vice City, exciting fans with a sense of the game's scale.
