GTA 6 leaks continue as strip club clip surfaces and legal battle escalates
The flood of unauthorized Grand Theft Auto 6 footage continues unabated, with the alleged leaker posting two new videos on August 22. Per IGN, one clip showed high-speed supercar driving and an armed robbery, while the other took players inside a Vice City strip club. The strip club footage reportedly included a cutscene where a character says they need to take "a leak," seen as a taunt toward developer Rockstar and publisher Take-Two.
This brings the total to at least eight leaked videos this week. The source, operating under the name 'CyberLeek,' has been promoting a cryptocurrency scheme alongside the leaks, according to multiple outlets.
Take-Two's legal counteroffensive is in full swing. The company filed DMCA subpoenas in federal court on August 20, requesting Microsoft and Discord hand over identifying information for users linked to the leaks, IGN reports. A court granted the Microsoft subpoena on August 21. Discord told Variety it reviews and complies with valid subpoenas as standard procedure.
Despite the legal pressure, the leaks persist. Eurogamer reported that a seventh clip surfaced online even after the main CyberLeek website and a Telegram channel were taken offline, displaying a copyright infringement notice. It remains unclear if the takedowns were a direct result of Take-Two's actions.
New gameplay details continue to emerge from the footage. PC Gamer's analysis of the latest driving clip notes that carjackings now involve a struggle, draining the player character's stamina. The video also showed what appeared to be traffic cameras that can trigger a police wanted level and a potential vehicle recovery tracker in stolen cars.
Amid the chaos, Netflix is proceeding with its plans. The streamer teased "Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look," a first-look presentation set for August 27 that will be exclusive to Netflix for six hours before hitting other platforms, IGN notes.
GTA 6 is still scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
