GTA 6 Morality Meter Can Permanently Break for Irredeemable Players

GTA 6 Morality Meter Can Permanently Break for Irredeemable Players

Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature a criminal profile system that can completely shatter, locking players into a permanent state of mayhem for the rest of that game, according to a new IGN report.

YouTuber TGG, who saw the game behind closed doors, detailed the system. It features four main states: Professional, Aggressive, Violent, and Psycho. Beyond that, there is a hidden meter that can crack and ultimately break if a player commits enough unjustified chaos.

Per IGN, Rockstar told TGG that reaching this broken state is very difficult. It’s designed for players who blatantly ignore the morality mechanics. Once shattered, the game reportedly stops tracking your actions altogether.

The system is meant to classify your type of criminal, judging whether your violence is provoked. Killing someone who shoots at you first won’t hurt your standing, but gunning down a defenseless civilian will drag your profile toward its darker tiers.

Lead characters Jason and Lucia have separate criminal profiles, allowing for different playstyles. It remains unclear if this system will affect the game’s story or ending.

In separate viewership news reported by IGN and GameSpot, the game’s 27-minute extended look trailer was a massive hit on Netflix. It was the most-watched title on the platform last week, accumulating over 31 million views according to Netflix’s metrics.

Netflix counts a view as total hours watched divided by runtime. The GTA 6 trailer topped charts in 87 countries, easily beating the second-place film, *The Whisper Man*. GameSpot notes Rockstar approached Netflix for the partnership, which the streamer called a “first-of-its-kind” offering.
