GTA 6 reportedly ditches the series' annoying sprint button mash
A minor but welcome quality-of-life change may be coming to Grand Theft Auto 6. According to a report from GameSpot, Rockstar's upcoming sequel is allegedly ditching one of the franchise's most long-standing and frustrating control schemes.
For years, the mainline GTA games have used a face button, which players must repeatedly tap or hold, to make their character sprint. This is a departure from the more standard control scheme seen in most other action games, which typically map sprinting to a simple click of the left analog stick.
GameSpot notes that this method is often considered less intuitive and a relic of older game design. Based on the outlet's reporting, Rockstar apparently agrees, as GTA 6 is said to be removing the feature entirely in favor of a more modern approach.
The specific details of the new control scheme were not revealed, but the change would mark a significant departure from a series staple that players have complained about for generations.
