GTA 6's Jason and Lucia look sharper than ever in new trailers

According to IGN, the visual evolution of Grand Theft Auto VI’s two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, is a story of major graphical upgrades. The outlet compared the game’s 2023 reveal trailer to more recent footage, noting significant improvements in detail and customization.
The first trailer from 2023 showed characters with less textured skin and more limited hair physics. Lucia had a consistent hairstyle, while Jason’s appearance was relatively generic. The recent extended look, however, presents a dramatic leap.
In the newer material, both characters sport a variety of hairstyles and show far more realistic detail. IGN points to Lucia’s wavy hair and Jason’s flowing locks. His skin now glistens with sweat, veins are visible on his arms, and his facial hair shows uneven, natural imperfections.
The report notes Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson stated the first trailer was a "mission statement" made when the game wasn’t fully formed. The visual polish seen now is the result of the team following that initial vision.
With the game’s release set for November 19, these final touches are being locked in. The ESRB has rated the game Mature, and Rockstar has begun ramping up physical marketing campaigns in cities like Miami and New York.
