GTA 6's world map reportedly dwarfs previous Rockstar games
The world of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be massive, according to a new report from VGC. Citing details shared by YouTube personality TGG after a visit to Rockstar North, the outlet claims the game's total map is roughly double the scale of Grand Theft Auto V.
Per the report, Rockstar's head of development Rob Nelson provided the size comparisons during a presentation. Nelson reportedly stated the new game's world is also triple the landmass found in Red Dead Redemption 2.
The scale of the main city, Vice City, is said to be a major factor. VGC's report indicates the city proper is twice as large as Los Santos from GTA V. When factoring in the surrounding suburban areas, the total region becomes eleven times bigger than its predecessor's equivalent zone.
These details reportedly came to light around the Netflix premiere of a special preview, 'Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look.' The preview itself is said to feature aerial shots that hint at the game's expansive scope.
