GTA 6 Screenshots Reveal New Activities, Wild Detail, and 170 Animals
A fresh batch of details and screenshots for Grand Theft Auto VI has emerged from a Game Informer cover story, IGN reports. The dozen new images highlight features like hunting and localised character weight gain, with one beach shot even showing an NPC photographing a friend's backside.
According to IGN's analysis of the screens, players will encounter the First Chapter biker gang in the Ambrosia region. One gang member shown has detailed tattoos and, in a new detail for the series, visible sunburn with pale patches where his sunglasses were. Rockstar's VP of dynamic art, Michael Kane, told the magazine the team ensured cultural accuracy for tattoos across the game's communities.
The same coverage confirmed the game will feature a staggering 170 animal species, per IGN. This includes over 30 land mammals and 60 birds, all part of an effort to faithfully recreate Florida's diverse ecosystems.
In a separate report, IGN notes that Rockstar developers conducted intense field research for the game. Senior narrative VP Rupert Humphries said the team's first-hand experiences included visiting strip clubs and taking night-time rides with former police officers to soak up the local atmosphere.
Finally, Eurogamer adds that Rockstar has completely rebuilt its weather technology for GTA VI. The new system will introduce hurricanes, rainbows, and massive cloud formations to the state of Leonida.
