Halloween game DLC adds Michael Myers' infamous Halloween 5 mask for $10

Halloween game DLC adds Michael Myers' infamous Halloween 5 mask for $10

The first paid DLC for the horror title Halloween: The Game will debut on October 27, and it's digging deep into the franchise's lore. According to Kotaku, developer Illfonic will sell a skin for killer Michael Myers based on his appearance in the much-maligned sequel Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. The mask from that film is famously panned by fans for its elongated and oddly defined look.

Per GameSpot, a free update arriving the same day will introduce a new map called The Tower Farm, which takes inspiration from a location in Halloween 5. The choice to pull from the fifth film for the game's initial DLC is an unexpected one.

Kotaku reports that the Halloween 5 skin will cost $10, as will a second new skin based on Michael's look from the 2018 Halloween film. Alongside these, Illfonic announced a separate $10 add-on pack that introduces two new characters for players to control as survivors. A third $10 bundle will provide holiday-themed costumes for the survivor characters.

While the game continues to expand its content, the pricing for a single character skin has drawn some side-eye from the Kotaku report, which noted the cost felt steep.
