HBO Max's 'Mister Miracle' Casts Josh Hutcherson, Mackenzie Davis

DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran has cast the leads for the upcoming animated series 'Mister Miracle', according to TheWrap. Josh Hutcherson will voice the titular escape artist Scott Free. Mackenzie Davis will voice Big Barda, another deity from the New Gods.

Safran revealed the casting in an interview with IGN. It remains to be seen if the actors will continue playing these characters in live-action films or shows down the line, though DC Studios has previously expressed a desire for such continuity with major parts.

The show is an adaptation of the celebrated comic book run by Tom King, who is also serving as showrunner. Per Safran, King wrote all eight episodes of the series himself, adapting his own work.

The characters of Mister Miracle and Big Barda were originally created by comics legend Jack Kirby. Scott Free is the son of Highfather from the planet New Genesis, who was traded to the tyrannical Darkseid of Apokolips as part of a peace deal. He and Barda, a former warrior for Darkseid, eventually escape to Earth.
