Helldivers 2 Surprise-Drops on PlayStation Plus Game Catalog Today
Sony just pulled a fast one, dropping the hit co-op shooter Helldivers 2 onto the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog right now. According to reports from IGN, Push Square, and Eurogamer, the game is available today for Extra and Premium subscribers as part of the August 2026 update.
The surprise addition comes alongside a major new update and the long-awaited Warhammer 40,000 crossover Warbond, per IGN. Sony is reportedly predicting an influx of new players as a result of the sudden catalog drop.
Sony Interactive Entertainment made the announcement in a PlayStation Blog post, confirming the game's immediate availability worldwide. The full slate of August 2026 games for the service is still set to be revealed later today.
