Helldivers 2 Troops Now Offer Hugs and Higher Firepower in Major Update
The latest update for Helldivers 2 is here, and it's bringing a more emotional and effective battlefield. The 'Devoid of Liberty' patch has landed, per reports from GameSpot, PC Gamer, and Rock Paper Shotgun, overhauling the game's SEAF soldier NPCs.
These grunts, once considered charmingly incompetent, are now reportedly better trained and equipped. They can also be hugged by players, a feature PC Gamer cheekily advises not to attempt mid-fight with a Crusher.
On the enemy side, Rock Paper Shotgun reports the update introduces two new Illuminate mutant foes. The patch sets the stage for a push against the 'Void,' a hellish region of space.
