Matthew McConaughey’s acting hiatus is officially over, thanks to a scrappy indie project. The Oscar winner hadn’t shot a film in five years before signing on for 'The Rivals of Amziah King.'
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the ambitious film became a passion project for the star. He reportedly told the outlet, 'I chose this in place of other movies I could have done for a whole lot more money.'
It seems the allure of a meaty role and creative freedom trumped a big paycheck, bringing McConaughey back to the fold.
