Hulu thriller 'Furious' starring Emmy Rossum scores a second season
The serial killer thriller "Furious" will be back for more. Hulu has officially renewed the series for a second season, as reported by Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.
The pickup comes just days before the show's first season concludes. The finale of its eight-episode debut run is scheduled for Monday, August 31.
Starring Emmy Rossum as FBI agent Alice Black, the show follows her pursuit of a mysterious female serial killer played by Lola Petticrew. According to its official logline, the series explores how their lives intertwine and the blurring line between right and wrong.
The series was created by Elizabeth Meriwether, known for "New Girl" and "The Dropout." Per THR, the show is loosely based on the 1987 film "Black Widow." The cast also includes Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Scoot McNairy, and recurring guest stars like Jake Lacy and Hope Davis.
Both outlets note the show has been a breakout hit for Hulu, with viewership growing each week since its July 27 premiere. Production comes from 20th Television and Searchlight Television.
