Imax says a full 70mm rollout for 'The Odyssey' is 'not practical'
Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' is the first film ever shot entirely with Imax cameras, but fans hoping for a massive 70mm rollout are out of luck. According to Variety, Imax itself has explained that expanding the premium format screenings isn't practical.
Stars like Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway have joined Nolan in promoting the epic adaptation, stressing the importance of the Imax experience. However, the company's logistical limitations mean most theaters will show the film in standard digital formats instead of the coveted film prints.
