Indian Epic 'Ramayana' Secures Major Global Distribution Deal

A huge two-part Indian film adaptation has just landed a powerful partner for its worldwide rollout. According to Variety, Sony Pictures has signed on to handle international distribution for the mythological epic 'Ramayana,' directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

The deal gives Sony rights to all territories outside India for the big-budget project, which retells the story of exiled prince Rama and his wife Sita. Back home, distribution will be handled by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, per the reports.

This move signals major studio confidence in the global appeal of this ancient epic story, bringing it to audiences far beyond its traditional base.
