Insomniac's Venom Game for PlayStation Is Still in Development
Insomniac Games is still working on its rumored Marvel's Venom game, according to leaker NatetheHate2, per a report from Push Square.
The leaker, who has a history of accurate reveals, claims the Sony studio continues development on the spin-off title. This echoes earlier reporting from Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, who had already dismissed rumors of the game's cancellation.
Word of the project first surfaced in the massive Insomniac data breach last year, where it appeared on an internal roadmap. While schedules may have changed, the game reportedly remains on the agenda.
NatetheHate2 reportedly does not know when an announcement will come. The Push Square editor speculates it could be a cross-generation release for both PS5 and the eventual PS6, similar to how Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales launched with the PS5.
Sony's current marketing focus is said to be entirely on the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine, which could explain the silence on Venom.
