Jake T Austin Says He Wasn't Invited to 'Wizards of Waverly Place' Revival
A potential magical family reunion is missing one of its wizards. Actor Jake T. Austin says he was not asked to return for the upcoming 'Wizards of Waverly Place' revival.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Austin posted on his Instagram Stories that he was asked back in 2020 if he was interested in reprising his role of Max Russo and said he was "100% in." He claims the producers later decided to take the show in a different direction, leaving his character out.
The actor expressed disappointment about the decision, stating his character "wasn't part of the equation" for the new project.
