James McAvoy pitched a young Picard series that never happened

James McAvoy recently revealed he once tried to get his own Star Trek series off the ground. The actor pitched a prequel series where he would have played a young Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
According to JoBlo, the proposed show was titled 'Mutiny on the Stargazer.' It would have followed Picard's early days, long before he commanded the Enterprise-D.
McAvoy reportedly developed the pitch and was actively involved in trying to bring it to life. The series would have explored the character's formative years in Starfleet.
The project, however, never advanced beyond the initial pitch stage. It joins the long list of 'what if' Star Trek concepts that fans never got to see.
