Jenna Ortega and Rose Byrne to star in gymnastics thriller 'Nasty'

Get ready for some serious drama on the mat. Jenna Ortega and Rose Byrne are set to star in "Nasty," a new sports thriller for Warner Bros.' indie label, Clockwork, per Variety.

Directed by Mary Bronstein, the film follows an Olympic gymnastics hopeful who realizes her greatest opponent is her own coach. The Hollywood Reporter notes the script, written by Isabella Jarosz, was featured on the 2024 Black List.

MovieWeb describes the project as having shades of the intense music drama "Whiplash," but with leotards and chalk dust. It's being billed as an "intense Olympic gymnastics drama," according to JoBlo.
