Jennifer English steps away from new video game role due to health concerns

Jennifer English, best known for her role as Shadowheart in Baldur's Gate 3, has backed out of an upcoming fantasy title. Per Kotaku, she will no longer star in Eclipse Glow Games' Tides of Annihilation due to unspecified health issues.

IGN reports English was set to play the protagonist, Gwendolyn, in the project. Her involvement had been anticipated by fans who enjoyed her performance in both Baldur's Gate 3 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Polygon adds that this decision marks a significant change for the development of Tides of Annihilation. Eclipse Glow Games must now recast the lead role as they move forward with production.
