Joe Russo Calls Avengers: Endgame Re-Watch Required Homework for Doomsday
If you want to follow the plot of the next Avengers movie, you need to revisit the last one, according to the filmmakers. Per The Hollywood Reporter, director Joe Russo says a refresher on 2019's 'Avengers: Endgame' is essential for understanding the upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday'.
Russo told Fandango that the 'Avengers: Endgame Encore' re-release will link the narratives of the two films. He stated there is a direct story progression from the earlier movie into the new chapter.
The 'Endgame Encore,' hitting theaters September 25, will run for about 185 minutes and includes roughly four minutes of new material. It will also feature a preview of 'Doomsday.'
'Avengers: Doomsday' is scheduled for release on December 18. The cast is reported to include Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, alongside a mix of stars from the original X-Men films, veteran Avengers actors, and newer Marvel additions.
