John Cena Goes Undercover in Exclusive 'Matchbox: The Movie' Clip

Collider has the first look at Apple TV's upcoming toy-based action flick, 'Matchbox: The Movie'. The exclusive clip shows John Cena's undercover CIA agent Sean faking a crash landing with his old pals, hinting at the chaotic reunion to come.

The film, directed by 'Extraction' helmer Sam Hargrave, runs 126 minutes and hits Apple TV globally on October 9. Per Collider, it follows a group of childhood friends whose lives are thrown into chaos when Cena's character returns and drags them into a worldwide chase to prevent a catastrophe.

The cast includes Jessica Biel, Arturo Castro, Sam Richardson, and Teyonah Parris as the unprepared friends. Danai Gurira, Golshifteh Farahani, Corey Stoll, and Bill Camp also appear.

This is Mattel's next big toy adaptation after 'Barbie', but it takes a different track. Instead of focusing on the cars themselves, the movie uses the spirit of kids' make-believe adventures with toys as a springboard for a spy story full of car chases and massive stunts.
