Josh Brolin says Sicario 3 has an incredible script and will shoot next year

Josh Brolin has dropped a major update on the long-gestating Sicario 3, confirming it will finally go before cameras next year.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Brolin revealed that the project now has a script from Steven Knight, the writer behind Peaky Blinders and the next James Bond film. Brolin called the script "incredible" and "undeniable," per the outlet.

The actor explained that he, along with co-stars Benicio del Toro and Emily Blunt, had been reviewing potential scripts for years but reacted the same way to Knight's version. "All of us reacted similarly. So we're very excited about doing it," Brolin said.

According to Collider, the film is set to be directed by Padraic McKinley. The original trio of Brolin, Blunt, and del Toro are all confirmed to be returning.

While no official release date has been set, the report suggests filming next year could point to a possible 2028 theatrical window.
