A classic Star Trek episode starring Julie Newmar almost ended on a far more grim note, per TVLine. The Season 2 guest star played a pregnant woman in a story that, according to writer D.C. Fontana, was the subject of a major creative clash.
Fontana revealed she fought with series creator Gene Roddenberry over the episode's conclusion. The writer's original vision featured a much darker and more complex resolution that was ultimately scrapped.
