Kingdom Hearts 4 slated for 2027 as franchise enjoys Steam sales surge
The Kingdom Hearts franchise is riding a major wave after D23. IGN reports that the series became the second best-selling game on Steam in the U.S. following a new trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts IV.
That trailer, shown over the weekend, also confirmed the long-awaited sequel will feature Pixar's Coco and is currently targeting a late 2027 release. According to GameSpot, series co-creator Tetsuya Nomura has pushed back against fan skepticism about that extended window.
In unrelated but brutal publishing news, Kotaku reports that Sony has terminated its agreement with developer Ternox Games' label, Stonks-9800. Fourteen titles are set to vanish from the PlayStation Store in under a week, with the developer claiming PlayStation Support won't engage.
