Kingdom Hearts animated series 'coming soon' to Disney+ and Disney Channel

Disney just dropped a major piece of news for Sora and crew: an animated Kingdom Hearts series is officially in the works. The announcement came at the company's D23 expo, according to Push Square.

The series is currently going by the working title 'Kingdom Hearts: The Series'. Disney says it will be 'coming soon' to both Disney+ and the Disney Channel. Nintendo Life reports the project is being developed in partnership with series creator Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix.

This news comes alongside a fresh trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts IV. No word yet on which beloved (or terrifying) Disney worlds the show will explore first.
