Kyle Gallner campaigns to play V in Cyberpunk 2077 movie

Actor Kyle Gallner is publicly campaigning for a role in Paramount's upcoming live-action Cyberpunk 2077 film. According to IGN, Gallner has his sights set on playing V, the video game's protagonist.
Gallner, who stars in the upcoming horror sequel Smile 2, made his pitch shortly after Paramount announced the film adaptation on October 8. He posted a photo on social media showing him with a shaved haircut similar to V's signature look from the game's marketing, along with the caption, "Take me to night city."
Fans on social media quickly voiced their support for the potential casting. Many commenters expressed enthusiasm at the idea of Gallner sharing the screen with Keanu Reeves, who plays Johnny Silverhand in the game.
Paramount and CD Projekt Red are keeping plot details for the movie under wraps. In a statement on X, CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski said the company is "excited about Paramount as a future partner" and promised to share more information soon.
While fans await more news on the film, the next piece of Cyberpunk content arrives next year. The Edgerunners 2 anime is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on October 20, 2026.
