LA Noire's Lead Role Almost Went to Mad Men Star Jon Hamm
The face of detective Cole Phelps in 'LA Noire' was almost a different Mad Men star. According to IGN, the game's creative team seriously considered Jon Hamm for the iconic role before casting Aaron Staton.
GameSpot reports the potential swap would have been a more expensive one, given Hamm's star power at the time. Both actors were on the hit show 'Mad Men', with Hamm playing lead Don Draper and Staton playing Ken Cosgrove.
Writer Daniel McMahon told IGN the team had a 'very good reason' for choosing Staton, though the exact rationale wasn't detailed. The 2011 detective thriller was published by Rockstar Games.
