Laika CEO Travis Knight calls out animation disrespect at Hollywood events

Travis Knight, the head of the Laika animation studio, is pointing a finger at Hollywood's condescending attitude toward his field. According to Variety, Knight still recalls a moment from a 2020 Oscars luncheon that left a sour taste.

He was there with his nominated film 'Missing Link.' Knight says a screenwriter seated across from him made a dismissive comment about animated movies, implying they aren't 'real films.'

The CEO, whose company made 'Coraline,' argues the industry relies on animation but fails to give it the respect it deserves.
