LaKeith Stanfield reveals Molepeople horror film release date at NYCC
LaKeith Stanfield showed up at New York Comic-Con to give fans a first look at his upcoming horror movie. According to Variety, he announced that “Molepeople” will hit theaters on August 27, 2027.
The film stars Stanfield and Ben Mendelsohn. The story follows a man who explores forgotten tunnels under New York City and finds a disturbing community living there, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Director Rob Savage is helming the project from a script by Nathan Elston. JoBlo notes that Savage compared the film’s tone to classics like “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”
The feature is a joint venture between the horror studios Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Paramount Primal. Paramount will manage distribution globally, as reported by both outlets.
Production is scheduled to start in the UK in late November or early December, according to sources for The Hollywood Reporter.
