League of Legends Classic gets a release date and player-voted patches

Riot Games is going full nostalgia mode for its 16-year-old MOBA. Per Eurogamer, the company is launching a 'Classic' version of League of Legends, which finally has a release date on the calendar.

This isn't just a dusty old snapshot of the game, however. PC Gamer reports it's taking a page from Old School RuneScape, letting players vote on future patches. That means fan-favorite builds from different eras could make a comeback.

The move comes as Riot also plans a full remake of the main game for 2027, making this a busy few years for Runeterra.
