Lin-Manuel Miranda turned down a Marvel villain role he knew was wrong for him
Marvel Studios once came calling for Lin-Manuel Miranda, but not for a musical number. According to /Film, the studio approached the 'Hamilton' creator to play a villain in a Spider-Man movie.
Miranda himself reportedly thought the casting was a terrible idea. He apparently recognized he wasn't the right fit for the part and politely passed on the opportunity.
The role in question remains a mystery, as do the specifics of which Spider-Man film was involved. No word on if Marvel tried to sweeten the deal with a showtune.
