Lupin Part 4 premieres October 23 on Netflix with bigger scale

Netflix’s gentleman thief is returning. Omar Sy confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the fourth season of the French heist series "Lupin" will debut on October 23.

Sy, who stars as Assane Diop and co-produces through his Carrousel Studios, said the new part aims for a blockbuster feel. "We wanted to be bigger, add more production value, go further on the action, on the drama," the actor told THR. "Everything has to go deeper and deeper."

Per a Netflix synopsis, the new season finds Assane in prison four years after the events of Part 3, ready to serve his sentence. His plans are overturned when a string of museum heists are announced in the name of "Lupin," with all evidence pointing to him. To prove his innocence, Assane must escape and take up the Lupin mantle again.

The core cast is returning, including Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, and Shirine Boutella. The series also brings back a bigger villain, with Sy noting the rival is "stronger, smarter" this time.

The actor explained the creative team spent time finding the right balance between keeping what made the show successful and introducing new, surprising adventures. Sy said the goal was to start at maximum intensity from the very first minute of the new season.
